INFORMATION about INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP
INFORMATION FUSION AND GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (IF&GIS-09)
May 17-20, 2009, St. Petersburg
This is the fourth Workshop. The previous Workshop were hold in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
Free Tutorials were organized:
1. Intelligent Geographic Information Systems: Theory, Methods, Technologies
(Vasily V. Popovich, Ruslan P. Sorokin)
Intelligent GIS (IGIS) utilizes modern progress in the storage, presentation and geoinformation data processing. Harmonization, integration and fusion concept as a theoretical basis for IGIS will be discussed.
A core of the proposed IGIS technology consists at least the three main parts:
1.Digital Object GEO
2.Digital Ontology Service
3.Digital Intelligent Component
2. Incorporating Time and Spatio-Temporal Reasoning into Situation Management
(Gabriel Jakobson)
In this tutorial we briefly discuss the role of time and spatio-temporal relations in describing the behavior of dynamic systems, review the status of existing research, and present an approach of incorporating spatio-temporal relations into situation management.
Workshop Sponsored by
- Russian Academy of Science (RAS)
- Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation
- U.S. Naval Research Global, USA
- Russian Foundation for Basic Research
Program Overview We have discussed Geographic Information Systems’ science and technologies in relation with Corporate Information Systems (CIS). In this context we also have discussed about problems of data harmonization, integration and fusion (HIF) concept regarding to the CIS. Also we expect to discuss traditional problems about heterogeneous data, information and knowledge arriving from different sources and accounting for geographic information systems’ environment.
Topics of the Workshop
CIS&GIS; Data Harmonization, Integration and Fusion in GIS; GIS as a Basis for Monitoring Systems; Ontologies and Programming Technology for GIS and GIS Applications; Mobile GIS; Intelligent GIS; Maritime GIS; Information Assurance and Protection in GIS; Operation Research and TSMO for GIS applications.
Workshop languages: Russian & English
